All eyes will be on Indianapolis Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday during Sunday’s NFL game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It will be the first game that the former Colts’ All-Pro center will coach since leaving Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, Georgia in 2020.
That’s right, prior to Sunday’s game against the Raiders, Saturday’s only head coaching experience was at the small Georgia private high school. During his three years as head coach at Hebron, Saturday led the program to a 20-16 record. Prior to becoming the HC at Hebron, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach.
According to media reports, Saturday, who replaces fired Frank Reich, is the first NFL head coach to be hired without college or professional coaching experience sinceĀ Norm Van BrocklinĀ in 1961.
