Male is No. 1 in the first 2021 in-season High School Football America Kentucky Top 10. The Bulldogs move to the top after preseason No. 1 Trinity lost to Indiana’s Carmel High School.

Male’s 47-0 shutout of Indiana’s Floyd Central also lifted the Bulldogs from No. 79 to No. 67 in the High School Football America 100 powered by NFL Play Football, the NFL’s initiative to provide fun and engaging experience for players of all ages and skill levels.

Trinity fell in the latest national rankings from No. 15 to No. 76.

St. Xavier is No. 3 after knocking-off 2020 5A runner-up Owensburg 51-38. In two weeks, we’ll see how good the Tigers are when they play Male on September 3.

After Male plays St. X, they have a bye week going into its September 17 showdown with Trinity.

Highlands starts the regular season at No. 5 after edging defending 5A champ Bowling Green 21-18, which puts the Purples at No. 8 in our statewide rankings.
