Mater Dei (CA) wins Battle at the Beach 7 on 7

Mater Dei served notice to Southern California high school football fans that 2016 could be a special season.  The Monarchs behind highly-touted sophomore quarterback J.T. Daniels won the Beach at the Beach 7 on 7 passing tournament at Edison High School.

Mater Dei went a perfect 7-0 on the day, which included championship bracket wins over St. John Bosco (26-13), Edison (25-20) and Valencia (Valencia) in the finals.  The Monarchs won the title with a 26-14 win over the Vikings in the championship game.

Oaks Christian beat St. Bonaventure in the consolation bracket final.
