Two of the best high school football programs in America will battle this weekend in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series.
Florida state champ Chaminade-Madonna will travel to Las Vegas to take-on Nevada state champ Bishop Gorman for a game that will be nationally-televised on ESPNU. Chaminade-Madonna is currently ranked No. 5 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Bishop Gorman is ranked No. 6 in the country.
C-M is a perfect 13-0 with Top 300 victories over No. 8 American Heritage (Plantation, Florida), No. 45 Northwestern (Miami, Florida), No. 47 St. Johns College HS (Washington, DC), No. 237 Clearwater Central Catholic (Florida), No. 281 Dillard and No. 296 Treasure Coast (Florida).
Gorman’s only loss was to No. 5 Mater Dei (California) 24-21 on August 26. After that, the Gaels rolled to a second straight 5A state championship with Top 300 wins over No. 84 Corner Canyon, No. 90 Hamilton (Arizona) and No. 191 Liberty (Nevada).
Chaminade-Madonna, Florida’s 1A champ, will be playing in its second straight GEICO State Champions Bowl Series. Last year, the Lions beat Arizona’s Highland High School.
Gorman will be make its first-ever GEICO appearance.
The game will start Saturday at 4PM Eastern Time.
