For the second time in two weeks, New Canaan beat Thanksgiving rival Darien, but Saturday’s win gave the Rams their second straight Connecticut Class L state football championship. Saturday’s 28-21 win was a big closer than NC’s 31-17 win on Thanksgiving morning.
New Canaan scored two touchdowns in the final 5:30 to win its 14th overall state championship.
The win was New Canaan’s 12th straight after losing its season opener 26-23 to Shelton.
