NEW Top 25 welcomes South Pointe (South Carolina)

Bishop Gorman‘s grip on the top spot in the High School Football America Top 25, developed with our proprietary algorithm, is a little bit stronger after beating Hawaii’s top team Kahuku 35-7 on Saturday night.  The Gaels, who will play their first in-state game against Bonanza (Nevada) this week, have now beaten teams from California, Florida, Hawaii and Texas.  In two weeks, Gorman will host #10 St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida), which could be the game that ultimately determines the “mythical” national championship.

Our #2 team, IMG Academy (Florida) closed the gap in our algorithm with a solid 35-14 win over St. John’s College High School from Washington, D.C.  The loss didn’t affect the Cadets, as they stay at #9 with a big game against #22 Good Counsel (Maryland) coming-up on Saturday.

There will be two other big games this weekend featuring Top 50 teams.  In Florida, #6 Miami Central will play #26 Booker T. Washington in their annual rivalry game on Saturday.  On Friday in Texas, #20 Judson will take-on #28 Cibolo Steele.  Judson jumped five spots this week.

Related: NEW The Other 25

The biggest mover this week is South Pointe (South Carolina), which jumps into the Top 25 at #23.  The Stallions jump twelve spots after beating former #10 Mallard Creek (North Carolina).  Mallard Creek tumbles to #25.

Jenks (Oklahoma) and Trinity (Kentucky) both move-up three spots to #16 and #19 respectively.

Dropping-out this week into The Other 25 is St. Edward (Ohio).
