After winning its first high school football state championship last year, Duncanville can now call itself a two-time state champion. Saturday, the Panthers, ranked No. 14 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 12 North Shore 49-33 for the 6A Division I title at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
The game marked the fifth time in the last six years that the Panthers and Mustangs have battled for the title in the state’s largest classification.
LSU-recruit Caden Durham was the game’s Offensive MVP with 231 yards rushing and three scores. All three came in the first half on runs of 26, 72 and 92 yards.
