After losing its opening weekend game on national television against Florida-power St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Frances Academy (Maryland) closed-out by beating a Florida/national-power IMG Academy. SFA, ranked No. 19 in the High School Football America 100 powered by NFL Play Football, roared-out to a 26-3 lead before wrapping-up a 34-24 win over the defending national champs.
The loss snaps No. 4 IMG’s win streak at 19 straight. It was also the Ascenders first loss at home since 2014 against St. John’s College High School from Washington D.C.
St. Frances now leads the all-time series between the two 2-1. The Panthers have won the last two.
