Loyola Academy beat Lincoln-Way East Saturday night to win the school’s second straight Illinois 8A high school football championship. The 26-15 win gives the Ramblers five overall state football titles.
Both teams entered the game unbeaten and ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings. Loyola was ranked No. 35. The Griffins were ranked No. 177.
The win caps a perfect 14-0 season for LA. LWE finishes 13-1.
