For the second time this week, a highly-ranked team in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, is being hit with sanctions by the Florida High School Athletic Association.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, No. 57 The First Academy will forfeit all eight of its wins, pay fines and be banned from the postseason in 2024 and 2025 due to a long list of violations.
TFA, after a reported 30-or-so transfers, won big games against this year against No. 76 Atlantic (Delray Beach, Florida), No. 117 Seminole (Sanford, Florida) and No. 153 Edgewater (Florida). The Royals only loss was a 49-42 thriller over No. 49 Rabun Gap Nacoochee (Georgia).
In addition to the sanctions, the FHSAA has barred offensive coordiantor Steven Moffett from coaching for 12 months.
The school is expected to appeal the ruling.
Earlier this week, the FHSAA forced Norland, No. 33 in the HSFA 300 to forfeit its win against No. 27 American Heritage (Plantation).
Sunday’s new HSFA 300 win reflect the forfeits and will cause a shake-up in our national rankings.
