With high school football season kicking into high gear, schools are always looking for ways to fund their programs during these tough economic times.
In North Carolina, the 16th annual NewBridge Bank Jamboree Invitational football and cheerleading competition not only brings-in much needed money, but gives coaches a great idea of how their teams look against another squad prior to the start of the regular season.
It starts tonight with 24 schools in the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston Salem and High Point) taking part in scrimmages. Next week the cheerleading competition will held on Tuesday August 9th at 7:00 PM at the New Bridge Ball Park in Greensboro.
The invitational has raised more than $750,000 for local high schools.
