While the Michigan High School Athletic Association is planning for high school football in the Spring, some are hoping to convince the state’s governing body to keep it in the Fall.
There is a petition on Change.org called Bring Michigan Football Back that asks the MHSAA to reconsider its August 24 decision to move high school football to 2021.
Here’s the Bring Michigan Football Back Petition
“On Friday, August 24 the MHSAA postponed high school football in Michigan until the spring. They do not realize that teams and communities have gone out of there way to keep the sport safe with social distancing and sanitizing. Teams have also been working 110% to prep for the upcoming season with two a days and conditioning just to find out it has been cancelled. Football bring friends and community’s together and can still be that way while following the Covid guidelines. We believe kids are safer at the felids with precautions rather than every day life. The MHSAA didn’t even give us a chance to show our pride to keep football safe and family at homes.”

As of Wednesday morning, nearly 30,000 signatures have been collected. The organizer is hoping for 35,000 names.
