Junior quarterback Matt Bodnar of Notre Dame High School (Green Pond) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is now at the top of the school’s record book for the most pass attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdowns in a game.

Friday night, in a 71-64 win over Garden Spot, Bodnar completed 37-of-49 passes for 604 yards and seven touchdowns, all school records. It was his first varsity start.

Bodnar plays for ND head coach Phil Stambaugh, a former NFL quarterback, who runs a very intricate, high-powered offensive scheme.

As far as Pennsylvania’s state record book, Bodnar moves into second place in passing yards and touchdowns. DuBois’ Matt Miller holds both records with 797 yards passing and 10 touchdowns.

Miller set those records in 2015 in a 107-90 loss to Meadville. The 797 yards still stands as the national record for passing yards in a game, according to the NFHS Record Book.
