Preseason 2023 Texas Top 25 high school football rankings

Duncanville starts the season where it ended 2022, at the top of the High School Football America Texas Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Footba ll. Friday night, the top-ranked Panthers will square-off with No. 13 South Oak Cliff in a battle of defending state champs.

No. 2 North Shore begins life with Willie Gaston as their head coach against No. 21 The Woodlands. Jon Kay r esigned earlier this year to take a college coaching position at Rice.

There are four other games that feature head-to-head matchups in the Top 25.

No. 19 Parish Episcopal at No. 8 Aledo
No. 22 Brennan (San Antonio) at No. 16 Cibolo Steele

For the first time since we began our rankings in 2012, Allen isn’t in our statewide Top 25. The Eagles, who won our national titles from 2012 through 2014, open against No. 3 DeSoto.
