After delaying the 2020 Georgia high school football season by two weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’re ready to get things going in the Peach State.
2019 6A runner-up Lowndes begins the year ranked No. 1 in the Preseason High School Football America Georgia Top 25. The Vikings are under the direction of Jamey Dubose, who comes to South Georgia after a very successful career in Alabama where he led Central (Phenix City) to one state championship and Prattville to two state titles.

Speaking of South Georgia, Rush Propst is back in the game after a year away from high school football. Propst is the new head coach at Valdosta, America’s winningest high school football program.

The Wildcats are ranked No. 9 in our statewide rankings and will get a test right out of the game when they face No. 6 Warner Robins.
There are three other head-to-head matchups in the Top 25 — No. 5 North Gwinnett takes-on No. 12 McEachern, No. 16 Carrollton goes against No. 18 Collins Hill and No. 20 Johns Creek faces No. 22 Westlake.
Four teams in the Top 10 — No. 2 Parkview, No. 4 Colquitt County, No. 7 Milton and No. 8 Buford — won’t open its season until next weekend.
