The regular season closes-out in Indiana this week with an interesting non-league match-up between nationally-ranked Center Grove (8-0) and Indianapolis Cathedral (6-2) that could also be a preview of the Class 6A state semifinals.
Center Grove, ranked #17 in the latest High School Football America National Top 25, is trying to close-out a perfect regular season after winning the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference title last week. Cathedral, which has been moved-up to Class 6A after winning five straight state titles at lower classifications, has only lost to Ohio teams — Archbishop Moeller and national ranked St. Xavier — this season.

If both teams are able to win their first three games in the postseason, the two would meet again in the 6A state semis. In the opening round of the playoffs next week, Center Grove faces Columbus North, while Cathedral plays Lawrence Central.
