The wait is over. Friday night, #1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, California) squares-off against #2 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nevada). The winner of this one will have a leg-up on winning a “mythical” national championship.
On Tuesday, I stopped by the Bosco practice and spoke with SJB head coach Jason Negro about preparation for Gorman, the play of junior quarterback Re-Al Mitchell, who will be making only his third varsity start, plus his friendship with Gaels’ head coach Kenny Sanchez and what the Braves must do to pick-up a win.
In 2014, these two teams met in Las Vegas with St. John Bosco ranked #1 by USA TODAY and Bishop Gorman ranked #2. Gorman won that one 34-31 after jumping-out to a 20-3 halftime lead.
