In the national championship chase, SFA is ranked No. 4. The second half of the season isn’t as tough for the Panthers. They do have national-power IMG Academy (Florida) and Arundel, currently ranked No. 10 in the statewide rankings. But they also have two Canadian teams, along with Connecticut’s St. Thomas More, a post-graduate school boarding school, and Mt. Zion Prep (Maryland), another boarding school.
After tough non-league games, No. 3 DeMatha opens Washington Catholic Athletic Conference play this weekend against Gonzaga (Washington, DC).
