Former NFL defensive back Chris Maragos is the new head football coach at St. John Neumann in Florida. An undrafted free agent, Margos won Super Bowl rings while playing with the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles.
Maragos takes over for Rich Crosby, who resigned after two seasons as the head coach of the Celtics. Crosby was 10-9 during his time at the helm of the program, including a 5-5 mark this season. The Celtics lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs this year.
During his scholastic days, Maragos grew up in Wisconsin. He began his high school career at Park High School in Racine, but transferred to Horlick High School for his senior season after Park’s longtime head coach resigned.
In addition to playing for the Eagles and Seahawks, Maragos played for the San Francisco 49ers during his eight NFL seasons. In addition to being an outstanding special teams player, Maragos total 93 tackles in his career.
