6A champ Starkville finishes 20022 as the top team in the High School Football America Mississippi Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Yellow Jackets started the season ranked No. 4 in our statewide rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.
After a 4-3 start, Starkville won eight straight games to win the school’s seventh overall state title. The Yellow Jackets are also the highest ranked Mississippi program in our national rankings — ranked No. 184 in the HSFA 300.
6A runner-up Brandon finishes No. 2, followed by Warren Central at No. 3, Ocean Springs at No. 4 and two-time 5A champ Picayune finishes No. 5.
