High School Football America is sending our condolences to the family of Austin Metcalf of Frisco Memorial High School (Texas). Metcalf, a senior-to-be for the 2025 high school football season, was stabbed to death Wednesday morning at the University Interscholastic League’s District 11-5A championship meet by a fellow competitor.

According to local media reports, Metcalf was allegedly stabbed by Karmelo Anthony during an altercation. Anthony has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Jeff Metcalf, Austin’s father said that Austin died in his identical brother’s arms.

In mid-March, Metcalf, who will be a member of the 2024 High School Football America Academic All-America Team that will be released April 28, posted on X that he made the school’s A Honor Roll.

According to his Maxpreps’ stats, Metcalf, a linebacker, led the team in tackles last season. He had 79 solo tackles with a total of 112. Thirteen of those tackles were for a loss.
