For the first time in over two years, there’s a new No. 1 in the High School Football America Texas Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
North Crowley takes over the top spot after beating two-time defending 6A Division I champ Duncanville 36-34 in the state semifinals. Up next, the Panthers will play No. 3 Westlake. The Chaparrals just three spots after beating former No. 2 North Shore 35-10.
Duncanville and North Shore had played against each other in the last three state championships in the state’s largest classification.
The 6A Division II championship game will feature a Top 25 showdown between No. 4 Southlake Carroll tand No. 10 Vandegrift.
Two other Top 25 teams will be playing for state titles this weekend.
No. 14 South Oak Cliff will go for its third state championship in four years against Randle in 5A Division II.
In 5A Division I, No. 15 Highland Park squares-off with Smithson Valley.
