Denton Guyer jumps nine spots to No. 9 after snapping Aledo’s 30-game win streak with a 35-30 victory. The loss drops the defending two-time state champs from No. 6 to No. 10 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
No. 3 North Shore opened with a 38-0 shutout over South Oak Cliff, which drops from No. 10 to No. 17. Both teams were runner-ups in their respective classes last season.
Vandegrift inches up a notch from No. 15 to No. 14 after beating Drippings Springs 31-14. DS drops four spots this week to No. 18.
