For the ninth year in a row, High School Football America will track where EVERY pick in the NFL Draft played high school football.
To get you ready for this weekend’s draft in Kansas City, Missouri, we decided to look at the first round since 2015. Specifically, we wanted to determine, which state has produced the most first rounders.
Florida leads the way with 37 first rounders over the last eight years. Coming in second is Texas with 29, followed by Georgia with 26 and California with 25.
In all, 42 states have had players taken in the first round.

Overall, 236 different high school have been represented in the first round since 2015.
IMG Academy and St. Thomas Aquinas lead the way with four first round picks during our tracking period. Florida’s American Heritage (Plantation) and Miami Northwestern have had three first rounders.
Auburn (Alabama), Bolles School (Florida), Bradford (Wisconsin), Brentwood Academy (Tennessee), Dan River (Virginia), Eastside (Georgia), Hillgrove (Georgia), Lake Travis (Texas), Lakewood (Florida), Mallard Creek (North Carolina), Paramus Catholic (New Jersey), Riverdale Baptist, St. John Bosco (California), St. Louis (Hawaii) and Westside (Houston, Texas) have had two first round picks over the last eight years.
