The Westerners just pulled out of Chapman Field House. We are embarking on a two-hour trip to Andrews to take on the Mustangs tonight. It’s a big West Texas game with two 1-0 teams squaring off. Looking forward to this. Friday nights is where it’s at!
Over the next two hours I will go over the offensive game plan in my head over and over and over again. Each passing minute will add more knots to my already knotted stomach. I love the rush of play calling and the cat and mouse games it brings about. Butterflies usually set in early Friday morning. I wouldn’t change this feeling for the world.
Coaching football in Texas is just a different feel. It’s different than anywhere I have ever been. It’s big. It’s exciting. It’s challenging. It’s important. It’s the best, hands down. Texas is where it’s at.
It’s time for me to settle into my seat and begin the offensive mental analytics I put myself through every Friday. Crank up some music on the iPod and drift away into football abyss.
There ain’t not better feeling then football Friday’s in Texas!
