Two of three teams in the High School Football America Top 25 going state championships this weekend suffered losses.

Friday night, Carmel beat #21 Center Grove 16-13 in overtime in a wild finish to the game that saw both teams score in the last minute of regular to send the game into OT. The win by Carmel denied Center Grove its second straight state title and avenged a regular season 19-6 loss to the Trojans.

On Saturday, #18 Cass Tech beat Detroit Catholic Central for its third Michigan Division 1 state title in six years.  In Illinois, #19 Loyola Academy lost to Maine South 27-17 in the Illinois 8A championship game.
