Year 2 of the A.J. Gass era at Servite begins with lots of expectations for the Friars thanks to the return of senior quarterback Travis Waller from last year’s 6-6 campaign
Gass, Waller and the rest of the Friars, who played in the rugged Trinity League, are ranked #22 in High School Football America’s Preseason Top 25. In MaxPreps.com’s composite poll, which HSFA is a part of, Servite is ranked #13.
Waller, who has given his verbal commitment to Oregon, had a great summer that concluded with the 6-3, 190-pounder competing at the Elite 11 at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. The dual threat QB finished third at the Elite 11.
Last year, Waller, who was the Trinity League’s co-Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year, rushed for 1,293 yards and 13 TDs and also passed for 1,669 yards and 12 TDs.
Below you can watch Waller in-action with two touchdown passes last year against La Mirada.
