Cross-town rival Union (1-1) snapped #15 Jenks‘ 27-game win streak Friday night with a 24-13 win before 18,000-plus fans at the University of Tulsa’s Chapman Field.
The game that is known as the Backyard Bowl came-down to a solid defensive performance by Union, which was coming-off a heartbreaking one-point overtime loss to nationally-ranked Southlake Carroll in Texas the week before. The Redskins picked-off three passes, according to TulsaWorld.com to stop two Jenks’ (1-1) drives. Union sophomore Tre Brown came-up with two of the picks in the first half.
Union quarterback Mason Farquhar had a big game with 234 yards passing for three touchdowns, plus he ran for a score.
