Defending 6A champ Corner Canyon heads into its championship game against Lone Peak, No. 1 in the High School Football America Utah Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Chargers will be looking for revenge against No. 2 Lone Peak in the title contest.
LP handed CC its only regular season defeat (28-21) on August 30. The win came one week after the Chargers beat national power IMG Academy (Florida).
This will be the third time that these two have played for a state championship. They’ve split the first two meeting with Lone Peak winning (49-42) in 2021 and Corner Canyon capturing the title with a 45-7 winin 2020.
In 5A, No. 5 Roy will be looking for its first state championship since 1981 when it plays No. 7 Bountiful. The Redhawks haven’t won a state championship since 2003.
Overall, Roy is looking for its second ever state championship. Bountiful is looking for No. 6 overall.
The 4A championship features a couple of 11-2 unranked teams.
Defending champ Crimson Cliffs is its third straight championship-game appearance. Not bad for a school that’s only six years old. Spanish Fork is looking for its first-ever state championship.
