Will Howard is celebrating the 2025 college football championship and being named the game’s offensive MVP after leading Ohio State to a 34-23 win over Notre Dame Monday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons.
Howard, who is currently ranked the No. 6 QB in the 2025 NFL Draft by Mel Kiper, is a Pennsylvania high school product. Whether he’ll be able the next Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Joe Namath or Johnny Unitas remains remains to be seen, but NFL teams know that a Pennsylvania pedigree has led the aforementioned to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The 6-4, 235-pound Howard played his high school ball at Downingtown West High School. Part of the Class of 2020, he was considered a 3-star college football prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings.
After his senior season, Howard was named the Maxwell Football Club’s Pennsylvania Player of the Year. He threw for 2,543 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior. Howard finished his high school career with 5,308 passing yards and 48 touchdown passes. He also ran for 512 yards with 21 touchdowns.
Howard was also a good basketball player, netting over 1,000 points during his scholastic career.
