New Braunfels Canyon is the the lone new member of the High School Football America Texas Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football. The Cougars enter at No. 20 after a 35-32 win over New Braunfels, which falls from No. 19 to No. 21 this week.
It was the 40th meeting between the two in the game that is know as the Wurst Bowl. It was Canyon’s first win in the series since 2013.
Prosper is the biggest mover this week. The Eagles are up six spots to No. 17 after beating former No. 16 Rockwall 19-11. This week, Prosper will open District 5-6A play against No. 4 Denton Guyer.
Atascocita (No. 10) and Cibolo Steele (No. 11) are up two spots this week.
Even though defending state champ South Oak Cliff is off to an 0-3 start, the Bears are still in the Top 25 at No. 25. This week SOC plays No. 22 Parish Episcopal.
South Oak Cliff has opened with losses to No. 2 Duncanville, No. 6 DeSoto and No. 23 Lancaster.
