West Charlotte beat Seventy-First 14-7 Saturday at N.C. State’s Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh to win the North Carolina 3A high school football championship. The win gives the Lions their first state championship since 1995.

Quarterback Jamouri Nichols won the game’s MVP award, tossing two touchdown passes.
