Quarterback Henry Hasselbeck and receiver Caleb Brown were in perfect sync Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. The duo connected on three touchdown passes to lead Xaverian Brothers (11-2) to a 31-25 win over St. John’s Prep for the 2023 Massachusetts Division 1 Super Bowl title.
Three of Hasslebeck’s seven completions were to Brown, all for touchdowns. Brown entered the game with only three touchdown catches this season. On defense, Brown, a safety, knocked-down a SJP toss into the end zone with one second left on the clock.
It’s the second time a week, that the Hawks beat their Thanksgiving rival. Last Thursday, XB beat SJP 23-21.
