Seven Top 25 teams are on their bye week, but there are two huge games this week that will shape the national championship chase.

In Nevada on Friday, #1 Bishop Gorman will take-on #10 St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida).  Gorman is currently riding a 44-game win streak, which is the fourth longest active win streak in the nation.  STA began the season ranked #1 by USA TODAY, MaxPreps and Prepnation.com in their preseason polls.  High School Football America had the Raiders at #7 in our preseason Top 25.

In Maryland, #4 DeMatha, winner of three straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference titles, will host #9 St. John’s College High School (Washington, D.C.).  DeMatha beat SJC twice last year.  Friday night’s game will mark the fifth time in its first six games that St. John’s is playing a team that began the season in the High School Football America Top 25.

Another game that shouldn’t be overlooked is in New Jersey on Saturday when #24 St. Joseph Regional (Montvale) takes-on #27 Bergen Catholic.
