Over 300 kids got a big thrill Saturday when hometown hero L’Jarius Sneed held his second annual football camp at Minden High School. The two-time Super Bowl champ played wide receiver and safety at Minden.

Sneed, who signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans after winning his second Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs, won first team all-district honors after his junior and senior seasons. He was also named all-area as a senior.

The two-way high schooler, who had seven interceptions during his junior year, told the Minden Press-Herald, “They’re learning skills about life, not just about football, about God; about keeping Him first. What it took me to get here — the hard work and dedication, putting school first and getting good grades — it’s not just a football camp. I try to empower them to be the best person they can be. The football camp is just a way to get them to come.”
