2021 National Letter of Intent Signing Day

While the early signing period has taken a lot of wind out of the sails of the traditional National Letter of Intent Signing Day, the first Wednesday is still a special day for student-athletes.

One of the most intriguing stories from both signing periods is that the No. 3 overall recruit, according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings, J.T. Tuimoloau of Eastside Catholic in Washington, won’t be signing on the dotted line. Most recruiting websites are predicting that the defensive end will sign with Ohio State, but Tuimoloau’s decision probably won’t be made until the Spring after he has a chance to visit Columbus and possibly other schools he’s interested in attending.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, players have been unable to visit campuses and Tuimoloau hasn’t been to OSU, at this point. The NCAA has set April 15 for when the current dead period will end, which will allow players to take official visits.

The 5-star recruit lists Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Washington as his top choices at this point.

Below is a look at the Top 50 high schoolers on the 247Sports.com’s composite rankings for the Class of 2021.
