Four Texas 6-man teams are a win away from a trip to AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, for the Class 1A 6-man high school football championship game. The state semifinals will be played in the two divisions this coming weekend.
In Division I, defending state champ Gordon will square-off with Abbott in a battle of 13-0 teams. The Gordon Longhorns have outscored their opponents 721-to-48 this season.
In the other semi, undefeated Whiteface will play Water Valley. Whiteface is averaging 67 points a game.
In Division II, Jayton will play Klondike in one semi. Jayton beat two-time defending champ Benjamin 100-50 on Friday.
After an 0-4 start, Klondike has won nine straight. Included in those four losses is a 50-0 loss to Jayton on September 6.
The winner of that one will play the winner of the game between Oakwood and last year’s runner-up Oglesby.
