Six of the last seven High School Football America national champs have come out of Southern California’s Trinity League. It’s the strongest high school football league in the nation with all six teams finishing last year in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
Mater Dei is our reigning national champ. The Monarchs also won HSFA titles in 2017, 2018 and 2021. MD’s arch-rival St. John Bosco won the national crowns in 2019 and 2022.
Both teams will be in the national championship conversation this year, thanks to strong non-league schedules that include games against national powers.
All nine of Mater Dei’s opponents finished last year in the HSFA 300 national rankings. Nine of Bosco’s ten opponents were nationally ranked last year.
As far as the rest of the league, Servite finished the highest in the HSFA 300 at No. 78 last year, followed by Orange Lutheran at No. 80, Santa Margarita at No. 81 and JSerra at No. 107.
