Sandy Creek capped a perfect 13-0 season Monday beating defending champ Stanton 44-42 for the Class D-1 high school football championship at Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium. It’s the school’s first-ever high school football championship.
The big play in the game came in the fourth quarter with 9:48 to go when Sandy Creek stopped Stanton’s two-point conversion attempt that would have tied the game.
