All week long, I kept hoping that there wouldn’t be anymore scheduling changes due to the coronavirus pandemic, so we could confidently begin releasing our preseason rankings today, culminating with the High School Football America 100 on Monday. Unfortunately, I believe there will be a lot of schedule changes and state governing body decisions coming over the next two weeks, which led me to the decision to delay the release in order to maintain the integrity in our preseason rankings.

As most of you know, High School Football America has been using its proprietary algorithm for our national, regional and state rankings since 2013. A key component in the algorithm is a team’s Strength of Schedule, which is changing dramatically as many interstate games have already been cancelled with more in the offing.
The big question is…when will will release the Preseason 100?
For now, I’m hoping that we’ll have a clearer picture of schedules in the next ten days and we’ll be able to input all of those changes, which will allow us to release the rankings around July 11.
