Defending 6A champ Center Grove is loaded with returning talent for the 2021 high school football season. Four of the Top 25 players in the state, according to the 247Sports.com Composite Rankings wear Trojan red and white.

For 2020 Indianapolis Colts Coach of the Year Eric Moore, it all starts with quarterback Tayven Jackson, who will leave the school as a three-year starter. Last year, Moore and Jackson led Center Grove to a No. 15 ranking in the High School Football America 100 powered by NFL Play Football, the NFL’s initiative to provide fun and engaging experience for players of all ages and skill levels.

Jackson, who has given his verbal to Tennessee, is the No. 8 ranked recruit in the state.

On the other side of the ball, CG will be strong with defensive lineman Caden Curry at No. 4, cornerback Kallen Carroll at No. 14 and EDGE rusher James Schott at No. 20.

Curry led the Trojans with 61 tackles, 21.5 of them were for loss with eight sacks. He has 30 college scholarship offers with Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State all interested in the 6-5, 250-pounder.

The Hoosier State’s top recruit will be staying in-state to be a Hoosier at Indiana University. Bloomington South linebacker Dasan McCullough originally committed to Ohio State. However, when Indiana hired former Kansas City Chiefs running back coach Deland McCullough as its associate head coach and running backs coach, Dasan decided to team-up with his dad in Bloomington.

The state’s No. 2 recruit, Kiyaunta Goodwin of Charlestown has given his verbal to Kentucky. The 4-star offensive tackle was 6-foot-6, 330-pounds at 12-years old. He’s currently listed at 6-7, 300-pounds.

Notre Dame will be getting Zionsville offensive tackle Joey Tanona, who is currently ranked as the fourth best college football prospect in the state.
