Loyola Academy had last weekend’s biggest win. The Ramblers 46-43 victory over Brother Rice keeps LA solidly at No. 3 in the latest statewide rankings created by our proprietary algorithm. Even though, BR lost, the Crusaders move from No. 9 to No. 8 this week.
Marco Maldonado, who doesn’t have a college scholarship offer, carried the ball 38 carries for 335 yards and four touchdowns in the Loyola win. The yardage broke Loyola’s single-game school record.
Right now, Loyola, No. 1 East St. Louis and No. 2 Mount Carmel (Chicago) are also ranked in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.
