St. Joseph’s Prep’s run of three straight Pennsylvania 6A high school football championships is over. Saturday night, Mt. Lebanon beat the Hawks 35-17 at HersheyPark Stadium.
St. Joe’s entered the game ranked No. 39 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Mt. Lebanon was ranked No. 202 in our national rankings.
SJP took the early 7-0 lead, but after that, the Blue Devils scored 21 unanswered points.

St. Joe’s closed to 21-17 in the third quarter, but that’s as close as the Hawks would get.
Alex Tecza had an outstanding game, scoring three touchdowns. He finished with 88 yards rushing and five receptions for 45 yards.

Mt. Lebanon finishes with a perfect 15-0 record, while St. Joe’s finishes 11-3.
