Big 33 officials have announced the 2022 roster for the Pennsylvania team for the 65th annual game that is known as the “Super Bowl of High School Football Games.” That’s because there’s ever been a Super Bowl played without a Big 33 alum.

The PA team features four players from Class 6A state champion Mount Lebanon. Quarterback Joey Daniels will be joined by two of his offensive weapons — running back Alex Tecza and wide receiver Eli Heidenreich.

Mount Lebanon’s first-ever high school football championship led the Blue Devils to a No. 62 ranking in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

The Pennsylvania team will be led by Tyrone head coach John Franco. Pennsylvania has won its last two games against Maryland.

This year’s game will be played Memorial Day at Bishop McDevitt’s Rocco Ortenzio Stadium. This will be the first year at McDevitt after officials moved away from Landis Field at Central Dauphin Middle School in Harrisburg.

In addition to the Big 33 Class, the Pennsylvania State Football Coaches Association plays its annual Big School and Small School East-West All-Star games the day before on May 29.
