The wait for a Florida high school football championship is over for Lake Wales. On Friday, the Highlanders beat Mainland 32-30 for the 3S state championship.

Lakes Wales (15-0) ended the game just outside of the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, while Mainland (11-4) was ranked No. 147.
