The Carolinas will be invading Georgia this year for a high-profile high school football doubleheader in south Georgia.

Prep Gridiron Logistics founder Joe Maimone announced on PGL’s sister company, NationalHSFB.com, that 2015 High School Football America national champ Colquitt County will host defending South Carolina 5A champ Dutch Fork in the nightcap of the Georgia-Carolina Challenge that will be played on August 19 at Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium. In the opener, five-time Georgia state champ Lowndes will face Christ School from Arden, North Carolina.

The Colquitt County-Dutch Fork matchup features two teams that finished last season highly-ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Dutch Fork finished No. 17 in the nation last year with a 14-1 record. The Silver Foxes only loss was to national-power St. Francis Academy (No. 7 in HSFA 300) of Baltimore, Maryland.

Led by legendary head coach Tom Knotts, DF has won six of the last seven championships in the state’s largest classification. Overall, Knotts owns 13 state championships — seven at Dutch Fork and six at Independence (North Carolina).

Colquitt County owns three overall Georgia state football titles. Last year, the Packers finished No. 28 in our national rankings with a 13-1 record. CC’s only loss was in the state semifinals to Class 7A runner-up Carrollton.

Lowndes, which hosted last year’s Georgia-Florida Challenge, is coming off a 5-6 record in 2021. This year will be the Vikings first year under the direction of former Grayson (Georgia) head coach Adam Clark.

Christ School finished 6-6 last year, advancing to the Division I state semifinals in the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools.

Both games will air on FloFootball. Since 2021, Prep Gridiron Logistics has been producing high-profile high school football games on the streaming network.
