Florida’s Chaminade-Madonna continues to climb in the High School Football America 300 national high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Lions move from No. 9 to No. 5 in the latest rankings after blasting former No. 14 Bergen Catholic (New Jersey) 61-21 in a nationally televised game on FloFootball. It was C-M’s third straight win over a team that entered the game ranked in the Top 25.

Up next for Chaminade-Madonna is No. 13 American Heritage (Plantation, Florida), followed by a matchup against No. 10 Miami Central (Florida).

Fans and media are still talking about the Friday night showdown between 4-time reigning Florida state champ St. Thomas Aquinas and No. 28 Cocoa. STA won the game 37-36 on a last second field goal that was the result of what Florida Today sportswriter Jon Santucci said was poor officiating.

According to Santucci, Cocoa appealed the outcome to the Florida High School Athletic Association, but the Tigers were denied. If there’s any consolation for Cocoa, its the razor-thin loss moves the Tigers from No. 28 to No. 23 in our rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.

A month into the season, our national rankings continue to evolve after 154 head-to-head Top 300 matchups over the last three weekends.

Overall, the Week 4 rankings welcome 13 teams:

  • No. 152 Coconut Creek (Florida)
  • No. 177 Servite (California)
  • No. 180 Maury (Virginia)
  • No. 198 Parkview (Arkansas)
