High School Football America sends condolences to the family of Caden Tellier, who passed away Saturday from injuries he suffered in Morgan Academy’s season opening game Friday in Alabama.

Tellier, who was the team’s quarterback, suffered a brain injury in the third quarter of his school’s game against Southern Academy. He was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital where he died the next day.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Caden Tellier has gone to be with his Lord and Savior,” Morgan Academy Headmaster Bryan Oliver wrote on the school’s Facebook page. “Caden loved the Lord with all his heart and was shining light every day he raced the halls of Morgan Academy. He was a student, a friend, an athlete and most important a Christ follower.

“There are no words to describe how we feel as a school community and family. We will come together and support Jamie, Arsella and Lyla with out whole hearts. We offer our deepest sympathy to the Tellier’s extended family as well.”
