2022 Kentucky 5A champ Frederick Douglass will test itself at the start of the 2023 season when it faces Ohio-power Archbishop Hoban. The game between the two will be played on August 19 at Massillon Paul Brown Tiger Stadium as part of the inaugural Northeast Ohio vs. America Showcase.
Hoban has played in seven state championship games in the last eight years, finishing runner-up in Division II in 2021 and 2022. The Knights have won five titles during that stretch. Last year, they finished No. 34 in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football.
Douglass, which won its first-ever Kentucky state football championship, was a perfect 15-0, finishing No. 265 in our national rankings.
