Thanks to a $200,000 grant from the Arizona Cardinals and the NFL Grassroots Program, the Tanque Verde High School football field is being renovated.
“This is really a dream come true! Our football team just came off an exciting undefeated season after years of being known as a struggling program. These new facilities will allow for our student-athletes to compete on a field that was carefully designed and procured by the best playing field experts in the world,” said Dr. Amy Cislak, Principal of Tanque Verde High School.

According to a story on the school’s website, the funds will be used to recrown the field and add a new irrigation system and scoreboard. In addition, a new practice field will be built, which will take pressure off the game field.
